With the knurled thumb screws, the guide scope is adjustable and you can centre a sufficiently bright star in the eyepiece or the the autoguider. I bought this for my Astro-Tech 60mm APO refractor and attached it to an ADM dovetail holder so I could mount it on my 8" RC telescope for doing wide angle images of large nebula. Works fine!

I've looked at several of these from various manufacturers in the past and have been disappointed in their generally flimsy design and construction. However, this one from Astromania is excellent! It is both compact and robust, and very well made-- all machined surfaces are smooth and flawlessly coated. The adjustment screws are large and easy to grasp and turn. The soft tips of the adjustment screws securely hold the guide scope without marring its surface. The guide scope is held securely enough that accidental bumps won't necessarily throw off the pointing. Definitely the best example of this device that I've found. And at a very reasonable price!

I purchased these rings so I could mount my guide scope to the top of my imaging scope. These rings worked very well. I really like the quality of the mounting set screws. Long story short, my guide scope fits perfectly inside these rings. The only thing I would have appreciated was mounting hardware. I had to go to Ace Hardware to purchase correct mounting hardware so that I could mount these rings to the top of my imaging scope. Excellent though in terms of mounting my guide scope securely. I would recommend others purchase these rings. Great overall value.

Disappointed that I lost one of the rubber nubs at the end of a screw. Otherwise this mounting is perfect for supporting my telephoto lens when attached to my asi1600mm.

High quality however it's rated for up to a 68mm scope . My 60mm barely fit with just enough room for adjustment.

For the price it does the job. I wasn't concerned about chromatic aberration as I just use it for wider field finding on my mid range 102 APO.I like the helical focus and that standard 1.25 eyepieces fit.I wouldn't use this on my 9.25 edge but that's not what the price point for this scope is.
