Acrylic Cribbage Templates
Rules:
The game is to score points from different card combinations, there are three different opportunities to score points, the pegging play, counting your hand and counting the crib. The first dealer is determined by each player cutting the deck, the player with the lower card is the first dealer, when playing with two players wach player is dealt six cards, one card at a time of the six cards each player discards two into the crib, the crib is essentially s second hand for the dealer to determine what to discard you need to know what scores points you will score points for each combination that adds up to 15 a run of three or more cards in sequential order a pair three of a kind or four of a kind a flush if all your cards are the same suit and knobs for when you have a jack in your hand that is the same suit as the card that was flipped up from the deck, these combinations will be coverd in more detail in the example hands.
Here are points you can get of each combination:
- Pegging play: 2 points for 15 or 31 or pair, 6 points for 3-of-a-kind, 12 points for 4-of-a-kind, 1 point for "Go" or last card
- Counting hand/Crib: 2 points for 15 or pair, 6 points for 3-of-a-kind, 12 points for 4-of-a-kind, 3/4/5 points for run, 4/5 points for flush, 1 point for nobs

Works as advertised and holds up nice while drilling. I have made about 20 boards and template is still in good shape. I also like the template since you can see through to the wood and know where you will be drilling. I do put 3 screws in though holes to hold the template in place while drilling.

I have been playing cribbage for many years and often thought boards would be pretty easy to make as gifts. This template brought that idea back and I have been able to build a few for friends, I should have taken some pictures but missed that boat. I built a small jig to hold the template in place when drilling the thousands of holes, wow that takes some time.It says router jig in the listing but I used an 1/8 self centering drill bit and it was fine. You don't need to make jigs or have any extreme tools or even any woodworking expertise to use this jig, just use some double sided tape to keep it in place and start drilling holes, this is a great way to personalize a gift or make an heirloom for your family.

I like the design of this Cribbage board template. It’s a three-player path, which is the best way to play, in my opinion. The template is very well made and should last through many uses. No issues.

It’s very accurate and about 1/4†thick. I like that it’s clear - which allows alignment of the template with wood grain in view.I wish the plastic used were a bit harder, it’s soft enough that you need to be pretty careful about aligning the drill bit each time because it would be very easy to enlarge the holes in the template with a slightly off-center alignment.
