I'm never quite sure when one of the "cheaper" versions of a precision tool will be thrown out or used over and over after buying. Regardless of reviews, I've had winners and losers. This is one of the winners!I have been able to use this in so many ways, saw height setup, blade placement on my planer and jointers, etc. This is an excellent tool. It is exactly like the more expensive versions with all the bells and whistles. The magnetic base is so helpful.I don't make any claims as to the scientific accuracy, but for woodworking, this is one of those diamonds in the rough! Well made and will be used over and over.

This is an interesting unit. The main problem with it is that there are no instructions. No description of what all those tips are used for. It is partly assembled. You have to figure out the rest. It took me a while just to get the basic set up done. I have yet to try changing the tips. Some are obvious, so are not. Again, you can spend the better part of an afternoon just playing with it to figure out what to do with it. The dial is fine. Setting up is a pain. The base is huge so it is hard to fit into tight spaces. It is adjustable, which helps, but it would have ben better with some type of instructions.

Yup, it works as it should. I have no doubt there are better dial gauges out there, but for the price you can't beat this. I used it to measure the thrust clearance on a k series transmission build I was working on (I had to buy a specific kit to do that, in addition to this gauge). Measurements were solid.

magnetic base okay, everything else junk. face of dial indicator hard to move when trying to zero out dial indicator and clamp broke first use.
