Seems well made and reliable, though I've not climbed off the roof yet with it. The attachment carbineers are a bit of an effort to design an attachment to our house. I screwed some eye bolts into the roof and wall to give three or so rungs along the roof before dropping vertically. This ladder didn't come with a storage bag, so we just tossed it under and upstairs bed. We had to let it air out after taking out of the shipping bag to get rid of all the chemical smells.

In searching for an emergency ladder, finding one that could be used for practice and not useless after the initial unfolding, was important. How do companies expect kids and families to climb the rope under stress if unable to practice without ruining the compact nature of the ladder? This rope allows us to get some good practice for the kids to get a bit comfortable with a second story climb.A glaring design flaw is that the yellow, plastic horizontal pieces rotate. This could lead to an easy and serious fall. The only safe way to climb with this ladder is to hold the sides of it. The rope seems quite durable but the rotating horizontal pieces really should not have passed the design stages.

Einsatzzweck war Notfall-/Fluchtleiter aus dem Obergeschoss über eine Dachschräge und dann am Haus frei hängend für den Fall eines Hausbrandes.Die Sprossen drehen auf den quer laufenden Seilen frei. Darauf soll man dann in diesem Szenario die Füße stabil abstellen und/oder sich festhalten? Das halten wir für sehr gefährlich.Deshalb sofort zurück und beim nächsten Kauf darauf geachtet, dass die Fluchtleiter anders konstruiert ist mit fixen Sprossen.
