I had my doubts that this would work for my standard size bed frame. We got a queen size mattress and were using a standard size head and foot boards. Fit just fine. Only problem had to get eight longer bolts to go through new bed frame legs. Otherwise, very happy.

The metal is sturdy and I have no doubt it would be secure. Unfortunately it was slightly too thick and thus not compatible with my headboard.

I used a platform for my antique bed, and bought these for my headboard and footboard. They fit perfectly. It’s just what I wanted.

We installed these thinking they would work and be sturdy enough to extend our queen headboard to make it a king while we found a king bed we liked. We slept the first night and the bed bowed on us. We were afraid to move in the middle of the night for fear of brackets coming apart and us falling on the floor. The next day, we took everything off and placed our mattress on the floor. It seemed to be safer sleeping this way than sleeping with the fear of being engulfed by our headboard and footboard in the middle of the night. Worst idea ever to try to extend our queen to a king using these. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND JUST BUY A KING BED!
