Improve the accuracy of drilling with your drill press. The EZ_Depth is attached directly to the collar on the quill and to the side frame of the drill press. Zero the display with the drill bit in contact with the work piece, then use the digital display to measure the drilled depth.

This is an incredible upgrade for my cheap benchtop Ryobi drill press! It was relatively simple to install (if you're well equipped in the fabrication tools department), it's VERY accurate and VERY repeatable. Both accuracy and repeatability will be directly related to how well you install it. I'll be using it in conjunction with the Ryobi's budget depth stop.The hardware is M3 metric. The included tap, which was rattling around in a bag of steel screws and brackets, was damaged and dull, the drill bit was also dull. I used a 4-40 tap, and 4-40 screws to secure the supplied bracket to the drill press casting. The supplied tap (junk) has a very small square tang; consider this, you may want to order a GENERAL #164 TAP HANDLE if you intend to use the supplied tap.The brackets are hardened steel, light but stiff, and adequate.The instructions were enlightening, given that your installation will likely be "custom".The DRO rail HAS to be square and straight to the brackets and the quill movement. This was easy enough by eyeball, just tighten the hardware in sequence while running the quill up and down for a small degree of self-alignment. My quill has a rubber ring at the top to soften the impact of the quill coming home. Being rubber, it causes +/- .001" deviation in the home "zero" position.I am absolutely thrilled with the install-ability and performance of this DRO. I build guitars, and boring .050" deep pocket holes for pearl fret markers is always a PIA with this Ryobi, but will be a piece of cake now. This is a fantastic and affordable upgrade. I would buy again, recommend to friends and even give as a gift.

I installed the iGaging DRO on the JET JDP-17MF drill press. Installation was easy, the brackets supplied were used to install it on the drill press. Naturally, you will need basic skills to install this as no machine will be exactly like another. Here are a few pictures of the DRO on the drill press. The DRO came with hardware, brackets and 2 extra batteries so I feel this is a good deal. I recommend the DRO. Digital linear gage looks OK. But the mounting hardware may or may not fit your drill press. I have an Atlas and a Craftsman and it fits neither. I'll have to make some custom mounts make the depth readout work for me.Recommended with reservations.

This is a very nice addition to my drill press. It sure beats marking the depth of a drill bit with tape or using the drill stop and also way more accurate. The instructions are just fine showing a couple of different ways to mount it. It comes with a few different brackets, plenty of hardware, 3 batteries (one in unit was dead) and even a drill bit and tap to secure to the drill press housing. My drill press is a Wen 4214 variable speed. The only issue that I see is how close the DRO readout is to variable speed knob, it's close. If it becomes an problem than I will replace the knob with a smaller one. A lot of thought was put into putting this kit together, I'm very pleased with it and would highly recommend it.
