Initially I had mounted a cheap light to the upper 1/4 inch mounts, and due to my cold environment it actually snapped off when I set my rig down. That being said I mentioned this in my original review, support reached out to offer me a new one, which is rare from companies these days and I appreciate that greatly. I also want to mention that the build quality is actually very good for the price, and the included filters were more than good enough to shoot in the daylight. I would be happy to buy it again for another rig if I ever need.

Very well made with premium materials. This is a fantastic matte box with an excellent double filter holder. This a precision made instrument. It’s tricky to get the filters at first but once you get the hang of it, it’s easy.Two things I don’t like: no case. It comes with a bag but with so many pieces it really needs a case. And 2. No option to add flaps on the bottom or sides. Simple matte boxes only have a top flap but the more advanced ones have either 4 doors of the option to add them.

Nice mini mattebox and filter combo. As long as you don't need strong side occlusion from light the matte box works pretty well. The flag is easy to adjust and tighten. The adapter rings can be slightly finicky but once you get the hang of them it's easy to use and swap the matte box. The bottom has a thread that can be used to put the matte box on rails.The matte box is not super light. If you have a very long and heavy lens and a camera with a loose lens mount you may run into some issues with the lens sagging. If so you should put it on rails. In my tests it did well on any quality lens i tried it on.The black mist 1/4 filter is very nice. Look at the test photos. The diffusion is a great, gentle strength that softens highlights and lowers contrast just by a little. Makes the image slightly more dreamy while still retaining a good amount of sharpness.

Like most K&F Concept items, this is well made of premium materials. It serves as both light exclusion to avoid lens flares (if that's the look you want) and a holder for filters that can be easily swapped out. It is a heavy unit, so take that into account if using a gimbal or handheld rig. First impressions are also important when doing indie gigs, and clients love the professional look of this matte box when you walk in the room.

This mini matte box from brand K&F CONCEPT is a substantially premium upgrade over traditional round ND filters for your DSLR or mirrorless camera.This system makes your entire setup look wholly professional and really plays a convincing role that you are ready to take on tasks for clients. But is not just for appearances as I now have the ability to diffuse and reduce light in a large square profile with variable ND blocks that are interchangeable but also layer-able.Overall, I can't imagine using my video rig without this system now, and I hope K&F CONCEPT offers other interchangeable filter sheets for this matte box in the future. 5 stars.

Amateur and beginner videographers will be pleased to see that K&F Concept is making an affordable matte box at a very affordable price. I love this box. I mount it to my A7RV with my 24-70 lens, and it works like a charm. The matte box has all the adapters you need for any filter thread.Installation was very straightforward. Just screw in the filter and clip the matter box, and you are done.You get the matte box and a 1/4 Mist diffusion filter already attached to the box. This is perfect for someone who wants to start filming without spending too much time assembling the device. You also get a nice carrying case that contains all the adapters, plus there's extra room to put in an extra filter.The only thing I wish this kit had was a spare filter holder. Overall I am pretty satisfied with this matter box and anyone looking for one should highly consider this brand.
