Our coalescing air dryer cartridge is designed for compressed air systems. It effectively removes moisture from the compressed air to prevent rust and corrosion in your truck’s air braking system. This cartridge removes water vapor oil aerosols and other small contaminants, ensuring the efficient functioning of compressed air braking systems. It comes with a seal ring kit that ensures a proper and easier fitment of this cartridge to your truck’s air system.
- Coalescing Mechanism: Our Bendix air dryer filter is equipped with coalescing technology that traps and removes oil and other contaminants from the air stream, preventing them from entering the air brake system and causing potential functionality damages.
- Dimensions: This coalescing air dryer cartridge is specifically designed to fit Kenworth T660 and Peterbilt 379 trucks providing reliable and efficient air drying capabilities. It possesses dimensions 10.5-1/2“ x 6 x 5-1/2“ to ensure compatibility with various truck makes and models.
- Seal Ring Kit: The cartridge includes a seal ring kit to ensure a leak-free installation as the leaks result in the development of moisture back into the compressed air system, which can defeat the purpose of the air dryer.
Installation & Maintenance Guide
Installation:
- Initially you have to remove the old air dryer housing from your truck and then remove the old desiccant cartridge and dispose of it according to local regulations.
- Once you have removed the old cartridge, take the Mytee Products’ Air Dryer Cartridge with seal ring kit for installation.
- Now use the included seal ring kit to ensure proper sealing and fitment during installation.
- Now you can install the new cartridge into the existing housing ensuring the cartridge is properly fitted.
- After the cartridge is successfully fitted in the housing you can now reattach the housing to its original place and tighten it securely.
Maintenance
- This desiccant air dryer cartridge within the air dryer is responsible for removing moisture from the air.
- You must regularly keep on inspecting the air dryer system to check for any signs of reduced performance. This includes checking for:
- Increased stopping distances
- Sponginess in the brake pedal
- Corrosion in air lines
- For further instance simply consult your truck's service manual for the recommended service schedule for the air dryer system. This may involve draining any accumulated moisture from the air dryer system at specific intervals.
- The replacement also depends on your truck's operating conditions and usage, the desiccant cartridge should be replaced periodically. For the same, you should check for the following:
- Visible wear or damage to the desiccant cartridge
- Unusual noises coming from the air dryer unit
Note: Before servicing the air dryer system, ensure all air pressure is released to prevent injuries.
