I've been taking care of yards for going on 29 years. I've tried a lot of different trimmer line, anything from x-line, triangle, square, vortex and of course round. Each one has its own specialty, if your cutting down a field, the square or round works the best. If your edging, dishing out sprinklers, trimming around things you want a line that cuts a little smoother, the vortex ( my personal favorite ) or the x-line works the best. Echo used to make a line that was asterisk shaped and cut real nice. For some reason they discontinued it, a few years later they brought it back but, it wasn't the same, not even close. I saw this star shaped line and thought I'd give it a whirl. It edges nice, especially bermuda grass, cuts smooth, its definitely a keeper.

I bought this brand from the information and rating of previous customers reviews and I am not disappointed. The string is strong and doesn’t break as easily as many others of a similar size, cuts over 2,000 square feet before bumping head in heavy vegetation.

I didn't have time to go to my lawn and garden supplier so took a gamble on this. I'm running it on two commercial weed eaters and it holds up better than some expensive name brand stuff carried by my dealer.Seems very durable and much less waste than my old similar star-shaped line.Could be that my old line was getting old and brittle but this feeds just fine and doesn't melt and doesn't strip out the last six or eight inches.I run the trimmers hard and cut a lot of stuff that I should go get loppers for.Holds up well to harsh use
