We communicate with our daughter through a 'friendship lamp' that changes color each time someone touches; whether we touch it in our home or she touches it in her home. The problem was, we couldn't remember who last touched it. So I bought these small colored marbles (that have the same colors as our lamp) So, now when we touch the lamp, we place the corresponding colored marble in a tiny bowl we keep next to it. No more guessing did we touch it last or did she?

If you use the colored balls make sure that child cannot get them out,it is very possible that they can chock from them. I used shipping tap on the bottom of the machine on they can't come out. My gumball machine is a display only that's way I used fake ones for Candy.

We ordered these to be used for a marble run which was given to my grandson WITHOUT marbles. Regular marbles were too big and didn't go through the run. These work well. I gave them 4 stars because they are too light to work some of the special parts of the run (like a trampoline). I didn't realize they were lightweight plastic when ordered. The colors are Fabulous! And there are so many that even when a few get "lost" we still have more to use. It is a good value and works for most of what we needed them for!

If I were playing Chinese Checkers, I would have gladly kept them. The colors are great. Unfortunately, I purchased them for a "marbleworks" racing set for my grandkids, which, if you are unfamiliar with marbleworks, it utilizes a gravity-fed race track for marbles to see whose marble goes through a maze quickly and gets to the bottom first. Because these marbles are not glass, they lack the weight necessary to make it down the entire course and they kept stopping on the track. Needless to say, I returned them. I gave them 3 stars because, even though they were not good for my purposes, they were pretty nice if all you were going to do with them was play board games.
