Operation method
Note: this instrument is very sharp probe, do not give children as a toy, in order to avoid injury. Cover tightly when not in use. This instrument is a high resistance instrument, each part should have good insulation, in the preservation and use, should pay attention to moisture-proof and dustproof, keep the instrument dry and clean,to ensure the accuracy of measurement.
Operation steps:
1. Remove the protective cover of the probe.
2. Press the on key to power on.
3. Press the Mode key to select the wood to be tested.
4. Insert the probe into the object to be tested, and the screen displays the moisture content of the object to be tested.
5. Note: After startup, the backlight will be on and off for about 30 seconds. Long press the HOLD button to turn on/off the backlight; Press the HOLD key to enable or disable the data lock function.
6. After the measurement is completed, press the on key to shut down.

I burn wood for heat. Dry wood is more efficient. This simple tool takes the guess work out of it.

When prepping for the winter and getting firewood ready, you want to know if this pile is all dried out and ready to use. Well when I got this, I went straight to testing it out with some pine. The prongs went into the pine like butter and it gave a clear reading. When I went and tried some oak, we all know oak is harder wood, so of course I knew it wouldn't go in as easy but to get a clear reading, I felt that I had to hammer the prongs into the wood for it to read. I would recommend this for people are just trying to check soft wood moisture, harder woods might be a bit hard to check with this one. Will try again with it to see if it was just the batch I was checking.
