I got these letter stencils to use in the background of some of my pet portraits. I was very pleased to see that the letters came already "punched out" so I didn't have to do that tedious job. Each letter was on its own fairly sturdy plastic square, making them easy to use and each square has notches to help line the letters. The plastic is translucent, making it easy to see through it and also help with lining up the letters. I used a pencil to outline the letters so I haven't really had to clean them yet.Before I used the stencils I went through each letter and with a marker, wrote the letter in the upper right-hand corner, which makes it easier to find the letter I want in the pile and know how the letter should be oriented.With a little care I should be able to use these stencils for many years to come.

We used these to decorate 1-inch wooden blocks for a baby shower. One detail - the stencils are actually about 1.2 inches rather than 1. But there are guidelines that make them easy to use to center the images for painting.

I used them on tote bags and they were pretty crisp. Make sure to hold them down tight so it doesn’t leak out of the stencil. Use tape and sponge on the paint instead of a brush

I couldn't use the interlocking feature as it made the letters too far apart. The letters don't align horizontally either so each letter had to be aligned one at a time. With paint, they bled so I had to trace and paint by hand.

I do quite a bit of craft work that requires lettering (signs, storage containers, artifacts). I need letters that are already individually cut with dimensions that are consistent. These templates offer all of those! Clean up is a snap, too! I bought the 3" and 4" but plan to order other sizes too!
