Yes, it's true. I don't have a family that includes 10 little girls who each need eyeglass straps. So I've been using the extra's as book marks! Hold your place easily and beautifully, and are stretchy so they accommodate for (almost) any size book. WOW. Yes, you could use them to keep glasses in place, but not large enough for adults to use, I feel. And anyway, then Kitty gets lost in your hair instead of being on display. They give you a huge explanation in the ad for these about how to lock and unlock the strap from your glasses, but truly I feel like it's a waste if you can't see the cute Kitty faces and designs. There are variety of different colored straps, so your child could choose which one they like best, but I was a little salty that my 2 favorite colored straps have the least attractive HK's. Anyway, with 10 you get enough to share with friends/classmates. Would make a nice gift at classroom/scout troop party. Not dangerous, because Kitty's are well attached and nobody is going to detach and choke on them. Also, the elastic isn't strong enough for a child to choke themselves that way if they managed to get it around their neck wrong, so I feel like it's pretty safe for kid/pet friendly household. I think kids will love them, and am only sorry that they are too short for me to use with MY glasses. Green (2 shades), blue, orange (2 shades), pink (2 shades), red and yellow. Cute cute cute. Sadly, you can't swap the kitty face you like best onto the shade of strap you like best, but that's what makes it safe, I guess. I give them an "A" for adorable utility.
