These are excellent in the classroom!Turns out that kids these days are lacking many basic life skills, like using a rule, ring a simple knot, and (you guessed it) threading a needle! I taught my middle school art students to weave. They needed these skills and I wasn't about to thread 125 needles 5+ times a day for over a week. That's right, they learned and they did so magnificently with these babies. Throughout the process, no needles were broken and very few were lost, surprisingly. I would buy these again and I would recommend them for my teacher friends to use in their classrooms.

I ordered this for a project that involved sewing with yarn. These were easy for me to thread with standard yarn and my project worked wonderfully! The needles were the perfect size for little hands, and they were not too sharp either.

They work! Eyelet is large, and needle won't fit thru small opening like buttons. However I purchased the needles for weaving projects not for sewing and they work good. Brought for my elementary art students. In my opinion they are safe for kids. Make sure you go over safety protocals for handling needles. I am very happy with this purchase. Will most definently purchase again.
