Multi-use. one way..just snap the clip closed around the stem-branch and upright. Another. system...when tying to an overhead support bar that drops a string/s down to the main stem of the plant. In this method the back hinge is closed around the upright string (making it level secure) then around the plant stem-upright. When growing pole tomatoes people remove suckers and count down 12 branches then clean the rest of the stem branches to the ground. Having these movable clips as the plant adds new top branches, makes it easy to count a new 12 branches and move the bottom clips up the string.. Also, consider these for your vining indoor plants.

I honestly think they're great. I like how secure they are and that you can undo them easily. Only problem is they are a little too big for saplings. I guess you could call it "room to grow". But, the space in-between is so vast that the vines fall out easily. So training the vines has been difficult. I still really like these clamps and think they are a great product. AND, thanks to them, my wisteria is taking over the trellis like crazy now!

This is one of the best purchases I have made. Certain I will really appreciate them come spring. My flower gardens are so important to me! I already use them for cords in my home. Great item. I ordered 300!!!

So far they aren't holding up to the weight of the plants. Maybe on flowers, but not doing well holding up veggies
