The clamp jaws are copper or maybe brass,but the ring terminals are steel that have been plated. I observed that suface rust was already appearing on these. Also there is a connecting strap that is likewise plated. I drilled out the rivets and removed the connecting strap. I puchased some copper ring terminals and washers and blind riveted them to the jaws. I did this because of the original clamps failing due to the use of disimilar metals. Overall I am satisfied with my purchase as I am capable of adapting things that others may not.

The handles feel great when you're holding them It's just too bad that they didn't put the wire to the tip of where the actual connector goes onto the car or your ground because that would give you A better connection to get the most optimal power transfer. I may just rivet a hole and insert the cable there.
