I removed a light shade to change a bulb. One of the nuts went airborne and has escaped. I measured the screw and found it to be an oddball size. This package had a nut that fit the oddball screw. Problem solved without drama and trips back and forth to a hardware store. I have plenty of spares nuts if I need them.

I use these to cover bare threads which could otherwise be dangerous. You may well wonder why I don't just grind them off, and that's a fair question. Just lazy I guess.Anyway, they are good enough for that, but don't look at the quality too closely.
