I bought these after being sent a video about Dr. Buzby's toenail grips. I liked the idea but for the price, the reviews on the Dr. Buzby product was not great. I decided to try these, figuring for $10, it was worth a shot. My dog has always slipped on hard floors, and last year, we moved from a mostly carpeted house, to one with only wood floors. His slipping has gotten way worse, especially as he's aged. I was a little skeptical about this product actually working, but it is a night and day difference! My dog can walk through the house without losing his footing! He's running and playing more than he used to, and I've seen a major difference in his confidence since I put them on. The package came with red, purple, green glitter, teal, and yellow nail caps. The colors don't matter so much to me, as long as he's not slipping anymore! But people have loved his teal nails!I will say, my dog is great for having his nails trimmed and allowing me to touch his feet, so putting them on wasn't much of an issue. If your dog struggles with nail trims, they likely will not do well with these nail caps. I cleaned his paws and claws very well, using a paw cleaning foam that has a rubber brush attachment to scrub them, and then clipped his nails. Then I used hair clippers to trim the fur on the bottom of his paw pads and around the claws. I carefully followed that up with scissors and trimmed any excess hair around his claws, to keep it from getting caught in the nail glue. I then measured each claw with the nail caps and trimmed them as needed. A couple of his claws were a bit too big for the caps (XXL), so I cut a small slit in the top, which gave them the extra space needed to slip them onto his claw securely. After everything was trimmed, I went one by one and put a tiny bit of nail glue in the cap, being sure to use the tip to rub it along the inside walls of the nail cap. Be very careful not to put too much, I found about three drops to be sufficient. I used a damp paper towel in between his toes to protect his fur and skin from the nail glue, and then slipped them on each nail and held them securely for 5 second, before wiping the area with a wet paper towel to get any excess glue off. It has been a few days and we've only lost two, but the ones that came off were the first two I put on, and I suspect I was a little too conservative with the glue. The rest are staying on very well, and don't seem to bother my dog at all.I am very happy with this product, thank you for giving my dog his confidence back!

My dog was dragging his paw's because he is having ivdd, and his nails got really short and started bleeding. I tried dog shoes and socks but this is the only item he really agreed to walk with ! Works very good. Very easy do adjust.

I have a 70lb golden and these do not fit her nails well (I bought the largest size). However, I made them work and they do really help her walk on the hardwood floors! I wish there was a larger size so they would fit her properly and it wouldn't be such a hassle to put them on.They last about 2 weeks before the tips break off, exposing her nails. The few that do fit correctly last longer, wearing through after about 2-3 weeks. They last longer if you fill the bottom with glue, let it mostly harden, then apply more glue to sucure it to the nail. For the price & quality, I would recommend these!

The idea of this product is brilliant. I have a high energy dalmatian who constantly is touching me with her paws scratching my arms. But she doesn't like her feet messed with fast forward trying to put these on her...it was like watching a prison rodeo...not a fan. Then when they got on there I'm like FABULOUS she can't scratch me great! Fast forward a couple days I realize they are too far up on the nail and a couple are infecting her toes and making them sore. It was hours trying to get these off her poor sore little toes. I've never apologized to anything more in my life. I felt so bad for her. It was terrible. If you have a calm dog and you can do it slowly and accurately great. If you have one like mine absolutely not!

I just moved into a new house with slick wood floors and my dog literally almost broke her leg several times sliding on them. In a panic, I ran to Amazon to buy these before she had another incident. I chose these because they said they’d arrive the next day. I was in such a rush that I skipped reading reviews when I really shouldn’t have. They arrived early in the morning and I was so thankful. I ripped the package open and immediately began applying them. I got the biggest size, XXL, because she is a 76lb greyhound. Unfortunately, they are a bit too small. I couldn’t fit them completely onto her nail because the tapered end was too narrow to go on any further, but I pushed them on as far as I could. They were easy enough to install and she held pretty still for me. They make her paws look cute and they seem to actually help with the slipping. However, I went back to the Amazon listing because I was pretty positive it said it should come with 100. I only received 60 claw caps and they aren’t the same colors listed, either— not that the colors really matter much. I went to the reviews to look and see if anyone was talking about not receiving 100 or if maybe I just got a bad pack. This is when I saw all the reviews talking about these claw caps harming their dogs. Now I’m sick with worry because I’ve already put them on and they will not come off. I’m so angry with myself for not reading reviews and potentially putting my dog in harms way. I was trying to keep her from breaking a leg, and in doing so, I may have caused a new problem. I’m hoping she won’t have any bad reactions and that when these finally come off we can just be done with them for good.

I recently purchased the VICTHY Dog Nail Caps, and I couldn't be happier with my decision! These nail caps are a fantastic solution for pet owners like me who want to limit the damage from their dog's nails. The pack comes with 100 caps in five vibrant colors, along with adhesive glue and applicators, making the application process incredibly easy. I found the instructions straightforward, and the caps fit my dog perfectly. What amazed me the most was how well these caps worked. My dog was initially curious about them, but after a brief adjustment period, he seemed completely comfortable. I noticed a significant reduction in scratching around the house, protecting my furniture and hardwood floors. Plus, there’s much less clicking noise when he walks, which is a nice bonus! These caps are made from premium vinyl resin and have passed safety certifications, giving me peace of mind that they are safe for my furry friend. Overall, I highly recommend the VICTHY Dog Nail Caps to anyone looking to keep their home scratch-free while ensuring their dog's comfort!

These are great overall. Here are some important tips with them:1) Don't get these if you have an itchy dog! They make it impossible for it to effectively scratch, as you've taken away its nails!2) These are perfect for old dogs who can't walk on slippy surfaces. I would not get them for young dogs, unless they really have trouble.3). Make sure to cut it down with scissors first. They can be too long for some dogs and hit their skin where the nail meets.4) Make sure you cut its nails first, as these will be on for a while and its nails will grow underneath them.

EDITEDORIGINAL REVIEW (picture with red nail caps): They’ve been really easy to install... but were already worn our after one day. All the tips of the caps were pierced, as shown on picture. Yes, we went for a walk, but it was on a gravel path. Very disappointed with durability, won’t buy them anymore. My dog is a not-so-active 75 pounds labernese. I ordered the xxl, they fitted really well. Would have been happy if they did not break that fast. Now I’m trying to remove them despite a very strong glue.UPDATE (picture with blue nail caps): customer care have reached me after this review. They’ve been really helpful, suggesting to trim the nails shorter, shorten the nail caps by cutting them, giving advice on how to remove leftover caps. They also sent me new caps for free to try again. So did I, applying all of the advices. Although I have the larger ones (XXL) for my 75 pounds labernese, the fact that they were shorter (since i cut them so they’re not longer than nails) made it obvious that they’re simply too small. I had a hard time putting them on nails and they split apart as I tried to fit them. So they were clearly not pushed far enough on the first try. I would probably need a larger size, which doesn’t exist! They also refunded me. I would purchase from them again and probably try these caps with a smaller dog, but they just wont fit for my big boy.

I got these for my dog (17.5kgs) and the size guide was spot one - they fit absolutely perfect. I followed the instructions to the letter and the they went on very easily. Be careful with the glue instructions say to fill about 1/3 and I filled just below the recommended and the glue ended up spreading over the top of the cap on one toe…she may not seem like a big deal, however, the glue is basically nail glue we would use for ourselves, and when it makes contact on the skin, it can peel a layer off - it does the same for a dog - so she has a spot that was irritated for a few days until it healed (no pain, whining or crying, just a lil red dry patch on her toe). They look super cute on and she didn’t show any songs of irritation or discomfort from them. It’s been a few weeks and they’re starting to grow off the way the instructions/information say they will.
