Yes, they are acorn nuts in black, and fit easily on M8-1.25 screws.They seem a little loose on the screw, that's why I'm thinking they're probably best suited for decorative purposes, and not mechanical repairs where more torque is needed.While reviews are not supposed to focus on delivery issues, I need to mention that I was disappointed that it took a full two weeks for the item to arrive. Going back to the theme of decorative vs. mechanical: A two week delivery for the former is totally acceptable, but if you're looking to use them to complete an assembly or repair, you'd want them quicker. For these reasons, I think they're of somewhat limited use, and earn only four stars in my book.

These acorn nuts are perfect for providing a secure and finished-look to a bolted assembly. The finish is smooth. I found the nuts to thread easily on a mathcing bolt. The thread depth is enough to achieve a snug and secure fit. The material and finish make these useful for outdoor projects as well.

I picked up this hardware for a project designed around 1/4-20 hardware. The nuts themselves are nicely finished but are unfortunately not accurate to their description. I was to receive 1/4-20 nuts, and while the box is labeled indicating they are 1/4-20, they are in fact M6x1.0 threaded nuts.I'm sure I'll be able to use these for another project so I sacrificed a couple to test them out. The black coating adds some resistance the first time or two you thread them on, but they do thread well otherwise. I did some destructive testing cycling them on and off, and deliberately trying to scratch them and the coating holds up reasonably well.Overall these seem to be pretty nice hardware - hopefully, they can get the labeling issue sorted.

I got these acorn nuts to use refurbishing a yard swing. The old bolts and nuts were rusty. I got these and some black bolts to suit. They look nice and threaded right on. I was concerned about scoring or scratching the finish so I wrapped them with some masking tape. It worked well...all tight with no scratcing. Overall nice hardware.
