The set of sizes in this set of stainless steel wires is great for small scale models, for making shafts or other parts. This steel has a specific formulation for making springs, I can tell from the degree of elasticity. But actually forming the spiral of a spring out of a straight wire is a bit involved, and I surely do not have the right tools. I wonder if there is a need for thermal treatment to achieve the right plasticity for forming the spring, and then another treatment to recover the elasticity. So far, I was partially successful in replicating springs for battery contacts: the contacts work, but not quite professionally looking. Still, I got working contacts replacing corroded ones, makes for a successful repair.
