I have lots of previous experience in installing these. I tried installing these in Aluminum. Drilled and tapped properly. Re-tapped several times and even tried a slight chamfer and re-tapped.. Still could not start any of the helicoils. Either the tang was too week or the install tool was defective.This kit is junk. Do NOT BUY!Update: I bought a GOOD / expensive new set from McMaster - Carr. and found that the issues is with the install tool in this cheep kit is 100% junk. See my photo of the GOOD black (top) install tool. The bottom silver "JUNK" install tool that came with the kit should go immediately into the trash can (as mine now is). I used all other item in this kit and it seems everything else is OK... so far... So if you buy this kit, IMMEDIATLY throw away the POS install tool (Bottom silver Junk in the photo) and buy a Good install tool as shown in the photo.

The insertion tool is useless. It doesn't lock on the tang of the insert. Instead of threading it in, it just stretches it out.Having said that, I was able to modify the tool. Afterwards, everything worked fine.

Came covered in rust. Also, the handle doesn't fit in the case which keeps the lid from closing all the way. As a result of this the threaded inserts were all mixed together when it arrived. The insertion tool is also pretty much useless. Buy literally anything else.

Like everything needed is in this box to do the job.Lid does not close very well because large driver size. Some parts in box get relocate.
