I made these wire shelves narrower to fit my closet, cutting out a section. The couplings were used to rejoin the cut parts. They are very strong, and I only used 2 set screws per coupling. The couplings are threaded on both sides (4 screws per coupling), but 2 were fine in my case. The wire was 4.7mm thick, so 5mm couplings were perfect.

Exactlly what I needed. I'm using them to join to pieces of rod instead of motor shafts, but they will work well.Only complaint is that 3 of the 40 #3 set screws were missing from the pkg.I relayed the issue to Amazon and they have another order on the way to replace this one.No charge, excellent customer service.

So I bought a metal neutrona wand (the gun that is located on the Ghostbusters' proton packs), and the darn fool located the pop mech catch lever right where the bar graph is. I had to fix that by cutting the rod inside, but after cutting the rod and moving things around, I had no way of reassembling the rod! Then I saw these, and boy let me tell you...these are GREAT!!! They really help out if you have a spliced rod that needs connected, or you need to move a rod in a certain way that is inaccessible without the use of cutting.
