The perfect size for a coaster. Amazing quality for that prize. I used them to make fun homemade personalized coaster for grandparents for Christmas and they turned out great!

I like that the tiles are unglazed, making less prep work for my project. The edges aren’t sharp and rough. They come with cork backings to apply after your project is finished. Great value for my money. I used the tiles for decoupaged coasters. They’re easy to work with, so I ordered two more boxes.

I ordered thi pack of Zilphoba 10pcs Blank Ceramic Coaster for Craft, 4''x4'' White Unglazed Tile with Cork Backing to try with cyanotype.I've been wanting to try cyanotype on ceramic for a long time. I thought that these tiles might be a good test.I've previously coated porous materials with cyanotype emulsion with mixed results. Sometimes the emulsion has soaked into the material unevenly, causing blotchy prints. Sometimes all of the emulsion has soaked below the surface, resulting in prints with absolutely no detail. I decided to coat one of these tiles with some matte gel medium before coating it with cyanotype emulsion. The gel medium went on smoothly and seems to be firmly adhered to the tile. Once the gel medium was dry, I applied a thin coating of cyanotype emulsion.I found that washing is somewhat problematic. Too much washing loosens the emulsion. Not enough washing leaves a very low contrast print with blue highlights. I suspect that it will take some more testing before I can achieve the results I am looking for.If you are planning to use these tiles for something other than cyanotype, I did try some acrylic paints from a gel plate and some alcohol markers. The acrylic paint adhered fine. The ink from the alcohol markers, though, sunk into the surface of the tile. I note that the listing suggests that sealing the tile before using alcohol markers is a necessity.

3 stars for being decent quality in terms of craftsmanship, and they were factory packaged well enough to avoid damage during shipping. However, these do NOT sublimate well/easily. So beware.

These ceramic coasters are great for crafting, with a smooth surface that takes paint well, sublimation ink? Trial and error.. The cork backing is a nice touch for protecting surfaces. They are a bit fragile, so handle with care.

I will not purchase again. I used them for sublimation and they turned out dull and I was unable to make out the picture on them. I followed the directions for coasters but still had bad results.

I liked these coasters very much. The surface is very smooth and bright. They are well made, and I am geli printing images on them, then working pencil and paint and coating them with a hard acrylic varnish. They are turning out with a fun glow.
