Primary aluminum material

If you're buying this to use blind joints, please be AWARE. The holes in the ends of the extrusions are oversized and an M5 tap will NOT WORK. These need to be tapped for M6.

Buyer beware: This is *NOT* 6063-T5 aluminum. It's some other aluminum alloy that's harder that 6063-T5. I've used 6063-T5 in all of my projects before without issue. But this stuff made my (expensive) saw blade vibrate and wobble, and galled into the teeth of the saw blade and into the material itself. The vibration in the blade caused the cuts to be out-of-square, and may have ruined the blade.The product description (text) does not specifically state that it is 6063-T5. However, the images state that it is made out of "native 6063".Perhaps I got an improperly treated / cooled / tempered batch. Or perhaps it is, in fact, a different alloy composition. Regardless of what it is, I know for sure what it isn't - and I won't be buying it again.I gave it a second star because the finish and quality seemed fine. It was straight and the length was accurate. There was one small blemish on one piece in the 10-stick pack I opened. Also worth noting, however, is that the finish is glossier than other black anodized 2020 extrusion I've used before. Not a big deal - but if sheen is important to you, it might matter.
