Ok for the money however, I purchased the set for the purpose of working on my guitar nuts if needed. No file thin enough to work on either the first or second string slots in the nut.

Even though these are nice files for the price, and are good use for several applications, they were the wrong files for my intention of smoothing out the top of frets. Not the edges but the top. I gave it 5 stars as for the proper application they would do a fine job. I have since bought the right files for what I need.

Way too rough for any king of precision work. Good to have in your toolbox if you need to remove a lot of material but definitely not designed for nut filing of fretwork.

Right form the bat, I saw that these files are not usable for dressing frets. One, the active surfaces are too coarse (supposedly diamond crystalline abrasive glued to the metallic stick); two, the active surfaces are without a pause, so if you tried to dress fret's ends, you'd damage your fingerboard. Returned for refund, and bought, for approximately the same price, a similar file set, all metal, from a hardware store. What it may be good for is filing your cat's claws to a perfection!
