So satisfied with product.. Stripped threads on Jetski motor exhaust manifold. Heli-coil did not hold. This was the last chance or or I was going to have to have the aluminum manifold welded and filled so that I could re-tap a new hole. I found this product and this is in there tight. I applied red thread-lock do it will not come back out. I torqued my bolts and it is holding like a champ! Great product. This is the way to fix a hole with no holding threads. Happy with the finished product.

I got this to do what I needed it to do, but these aren’t “self taping†per se, if you’re going into metal. You’ll have to get an M6-1.0 tap. I used this to repair a MAF thread mount off a Cold Air intake that i bought used, and it’s obsolete so I wanted to try my best to restore it.

Be careful when threading these in using the slot cut into the top. I had three out of four of them snap the side off when trying to run these in. The metal is somewhat soft, so on smaller diameters, the notch weakens it enough to make it easy to break. I was able to insert a bolt with a nut on it into them and then utilize the nut as a jam to run the inserts all the way in the rest of the way. Still functions, holds great once inserted, but just needs a little care when installing.

After much searching, I found the internal and external thread sizes I needed. After waiting patiently for two weeks, it was surprised to find the inside thread size was not even close to 8mm. The outside was correct at 10mmx1.25 but the inside was way too big. Don't buy as they clearly need to improve their quality control. Disappointed!!!
