I used them for repairing a garbage can lid (one of the previous springs bounced off into wherever lost socks go).I needed it to flip the can lid up around 90 degrees, so I ordered the 90 degree version... but found they didn't quite lift the lid that well... so I experimented.I wrapped the spring up in a folded towel, grabbed the two long 'arms' one to a hand, then pressed my thumbs against the center so sort of reverse flex them out to around 180 degrees, then hold for about 10 seconds. When I let go, the angle was stable at around 120 degrees.I then installed them, and bam! The can lid openned to a proper 90 degrees reliably. It's been stable like that for the last couple of days. I also pre-flexed some spares ahead of time, and they've all stayed stable. I think the spring force still only works to 90 degrees range of movement if that's the version you buy, but that's what I got them for, just needed to pre-flex them to get to use that force properly.The flexibility (ha) of the springs as a basic tool makes them just right for what was intended - and I'd recommend them.Oh, and despite the listing title, these ARE 15 per pack, at least as I got them. Decent metal thickness and strength of spring force.

These springs are adequate for small household repairs or hobby projects but are a little too soft. They are borderline plain wire but worked for me.
