We purchased these magnets to use in our stateroom during our cruise last week. I am glad to report that they performed better than expected. Their straight on strength is incredibly but surprisingly so is their 90 degree from straight on strength. We used them to hang items on the wall which had the magnets working to avoid sliding down the wall. Even with a large wet towel hanging from one magnet it didn't slide 1 mm. We also hung a 6 foot tall multi-pocket wall organizer with just two magnets and it didn't budge all week while holding lotions, shoes, hair care products and everything else we put it in. We highly recommend these magnets with only one caveat and that is if you try to pull the magnets off the wall buy their hooks the hooks will come off easily. They are easy to reinstall, but this is our only complaint.

We got these on a recommendation to take with us for our first cruise. We liked them so much we came back to order more! They are very strong, so you have to pull hard to separate them or remove them, but they let us hang lanyards, hats, wet swimsuits, toiletry bags, towels, and more. They stuck to walls, ceilings, and even the door on the cruise ship, and they didn't budge until we were ready to tug them off. I love that the hook part rotates so that it works equally well on the walls or from the ceiling.

I bought these to take with us on cruises so I could hang things on the wall/ceiling. They work great! Very sturdy and hold quite a bit of weight. The swivel hook is great - allows you to put them on the ceiling too. One of these hooks on the ceiling above my pillow and a long loop of yarn and voila I have a holder to keep my cpap hose up like I do at home.

First...yes these magnets are very strong and, once fixed can be difficult to move. The hooks themselves feel like they might bend or snap when you attempt to move or detach the magnets by anything other than the base. Some things to know if you are using these as hooks on an outdoor BBQ grill:1. Place the magnet hooks and your tools carefully. Avoid the corners and place the hooks more towards the center of your grill. This makes it easier to take your grill cover off and on.2. Keep any sharp tools like forks or pointed tongs on the hooks closer to the center. This will help prevent your tools from snagging on your grill cover.3. Face your BBQ cleaning brushes inward on the hooks so the wire doesn’t catch against the inside of your grill cover.Overall, a great value and six magnets is a good number to space them out and have a reasonable number of tools handy.

Update after 7 months of using: I'm going to leave my 4 star rating because these magnetic hooks served their intended purposes. However, I wanted to share a significant "flaw" I discovere... as well as a another useful attribute. The flaw is that the wire hooks are able to be pulled out easily from the magnetic base. They're basically holding on like a stethoscope. If you don't mess with the hooks too often, this isn't a huge issue. But if you're frequently mounting/unmounting something from the hook, you may find it's rather easy to pull one of the wires out of place. You can just pop it back into place, but it's quite annoying at times. I also realized these magnets are awesome for helping me to find studs in the 99 yr old house I'm renting. The walls are plaster and lathe, so my regular stud finders just weren't able to do the job. This magnet has just enough force to catch on to nails or screws that are in the studs. They'll lightly cling to the walls and serve as markers while I measure everything out. I guess that kind of attests to how strong the magnets really are.**Original review below**These magnetic hooks are great, but they're not the best I've ever owned. There are some "design improvements" you may want to look for depending on your needs. I can't quite say these hooks have design flaws yet because they've served the purposes I bought them for without failure thus far. However, I haven't pushed them to their max, and I wasn't in search of "the best" this time around. I just needed something cost-effective and generally reliable.I've owned similar magnetic hooks in the past. Although the magnets were always ultra strong, sometimes the hooks or the glue that bonded the magnet to the base weren't. Only time & testing in various conditons will tell if these hooks are actually fit to hold up to 100 lbs, as the description claims. Even so, it would be risky to see how long it could hold that much weight for. Unfortunately, I'm not in a position to take risks just to point out quality control issues right now. So I'll just provide my review for how I've used these, along with some recommendations that may help others decide if they should search for something else.I used these set of hooks for a variety of purposes. One was to hang small curtain rods over a door window in the house that I'm renting. These magnetic hooks were overkill for the task. I got them extra strong because I wanted to be able to slide the curtain open every now & then without worrying about the rods moving. So far, I've had no problems. These things are great for hanging keys, clipboards, decorative lights & garlands, aprons & pot holders, coffee mugs, cooking & grilling utensils, tools, etc. I've been using one to hang a small plant outdoors that weighs no more than 10 lbs when wet. It has held up for at least 3 wks, even as rain was blown under my porch cover and even through moderately windy weather. I haven't tried anything heavier with this set because I've had past incidents where other magnetic hooks failed me. In one case, I had a medium sized hanging plant shatter inside my home because the hook casing came unglued from the magnet. In another case, my hanging fruit basket fell to the floor when the hook broke off. Some things to be mindful of: The magnet on this hook is so strong that it can dent flimsy metal if you haphazardly slap it onto something - like a cheap grill cover. It will also scratch surfaces if you try to drag it to the spot where you want it to be. A magnetic hook can hold the most weight when hung upside down. It loses some of its ability to hold weight when hung from a vertical surface (e.g., a wall, a refrigerator, a metal door, etc.). Don't go overboard with these things, especially if you're hanging something important or on a surface you want to maintain.Design improvements: My best magnetic hooks managed to disappear over time. But here are some of the best features I've found, which these hooks don't have. The most trustworthy hooks I owned had the magnet screwed into the base. This caused increased likelihood of scratching surfaces, but I never had an issue with the magnet separating from the hook casing. I used those hooks in my garage and outdoors to hold a lot of heavy things. Those hooks didn't flip back & forth like these ones do, but they did swivel around 360°. These hooks don't swivel at all. So when you put them on a surface, you have to make sure you have the hook hanging just the way you want it. Otherwise, you'll have to spin it, and you'll risk scratching the surface of what it's clinging to.I'm not sure if there are any load-bearing benefits to the hook being able to lay flat like these ones allow. I will say, I like that it doesn't jut out as much as my sturdier hooks did. It allows for a cleaner look and more flexibility when hanging items from a vertical surface. So I guess that's a plus. Next time I buy a new set of magnetic hooks, I'll probably see if I can find a combination of all these features.

My new BBQ did not have hooks for utensils. I figured I would give these a try. I wasn't expecting much but something else to toss in the trash but these things work great. Very strong magnets, holds everything I've hung in them.

These are very strong. I use some for BBQ tools on the grill, and others in the garage for tools…. as well as taking them on a cruise to hold the lanyards!

This were super heavy duty,Sadly they didn’t work because where I needed them the finish wasn’t metal to hold a magnet.Would definitely reorder these if I had a spot to use them

Large hooks, great capacity, stick easily to cruise ship cabin walls. Very handy, made our cruise more enjoyable, very small to pack and bring home.
