WOWOWOW, wish I had bought sooner. Cuts through solid oak like butter!! Have gone through 5 Irwin bits as they get dull quick. This one cuts FAST and CLEAN, about 1/10 of the time. Hope it holds up.

Product was very sharp on first use. Only frilled one 12 inch deep hole so far. Will see how long it holds its sharpness in due time.

This works well. Comes in a decent storage case and chucks in just fine. The hole it made in MDF was just a teeny tad larger than 40mm so pretty much right on the money. Seems of decent quality metal.

This forstner bit is extremely sharp and cuts well. I liked that the edge cutters are very sharp and created well defined edges with NO tearout. The 3 cutter design works well to clear out the shavings and created a very flat bottom for the drill hole.I also liked that the centering point was sharp and pointed so that the bit had no problems maintaining center when starting to drill with a hand-held drill. Since the cutting edges were so sharp, it was very easy to maintain the position of the workpiece. The cutters just cut right through the wood without much excess force put on the workpiece that would move it on my work bench. Naturally, using a drill press would mitigate all these concerns but it is nice to know that in a pinch, this bit can be used like a normal drill bit in my cordless drill.Overall, the bit was very sharp, the shaft straight and square to the bit head, and the centering point had good geometry to easily maintain the bit where I needed it to be. This definitely joins my collection of bits to have.

Drills holes fast using my cordless drill. I recently installed a new water heater in my home and needed to run a drain line from the pan thru the floor and i didn't have a bit big enough. This 1¼in forstener bit did the trick in no time. It drilled fast and clean thru the floor. This is a solid, well made forstener bit. I've never actually said this, but, it's a beautifully made drill bit.

This very sharp forstner bit makes a very flat smooth bottom. The measurement of the hole is precisely as advertised. I found the three flute design cuts a little slower than the standard two flute. Chip removal will require more attention but the results are less chatter and smoother finish. I also found this bit is usable with a handheld drill. The carbide promises to be a more durable and long lasting edge. The only thing missing is an indicted max RPM. This information would have been appreciated. When the choice is between a standard forstner and a carbide, this carbide will be my choice.
