Easy to install and fits perfectly. Kit comes with the plastic ring lube and o ring. I cleaned the tub wall with a shower scrubber pad then cleaned the tub wall and the back of the plastic with rubbing alcohol to ensure a clean tight fit. Apply the caulking to the back of the ring and attach it to the tub wall. The o ring gives a clean tight seal between the pipe and plastic plate. It will never leak. Perfect.

I needed something to cover the back hole of wall where water could get in after changing my tub spout. This did the job. Easy and simple. It's a no brainer. Put on and caulk around it, that's it. Make sure the measurement are accurate before ordering. That's all.

Thoughtfully designed and installs easily; giving me peace of mind that no water will leak behind the tub. I suspect that had been happening, as I own an older home and sealing the opening behind the spout wasn’t considered when it was installed. After the plastic spout connector to the copper water pipe cracked, water began slowly leaking into the space behind the tub, causing moisture issues in the next room. I do wish this product was a bit cheaper, and if I ever need to seal the opening in my other tub, I may consider a cheaper, DIY solution. But, for most, this is an easily-installed complete kit that provides insurance against future leaks/mold issues.Update: I had written a slightly more critical review (mainly that this product seemed rather expensive) which prompted the seller to offer a full refund; they did not ask me to remove or modify my review, but it made me give my review some more thought. I didn’t accept their offer but updated my review to add additional info. I still think it can be cheaper, but it is a well-designed product that performs a function most people may not have considered a potential problem in their bathroom.

I paid a little more than I thought I should. However, when I installed it and saw how well the fit was I was glad I had it handy when I replaced my tub spout. Seals well and should work for life of the shower.

I have ordered two other ones that didn’t fit. One was plastic and broke while being installed. This one fits and seals as it should and was easy to install. Seems sturdy and I expect no problems with it.

I am not a plumber, just a DIYer. But when I went to replace my tub spout, I didn't like the fact the pipe coming out of the shower wasn't sealed. Sure it is probably OK, but just in case, why not seal it so it's impossible for water to get in?This item was perfect for the extra piece of mind. It seals very well around the pipe, and I sealed the back with caulk. It might be overkill but for the price it is a no-brainer IMO.Felt like a high quality product and I can't fault it in any way.

Why is it so common for tub faucet piping to “raggedly†come through the wall leaving a gap for water to escape through the stud wall?This split washer, that reattaches like a collar on the 1/2†or 3/4†protruding pipe may (hopefully with silicone caulking) shield any backsplash.

Definitely not worth the money. Broke immediately when separating the halves. Very small.
