A good pair of turnbuckles, quality iron, plenty of lateral travel, lock nuts included and the pinned shackles on the ends make for quick installation. I did not use a scale to test load, but experience tells me they have more than enough girth to make their rated capacity of 1200 pounds. The coating isn't the greatest but it will extend service life longer than without.With a cost at par to slightly less than the same hardware sourced locally, these are a good buy.

So this is a middle of the road kind of thing. You don't usually get these for their looks. They are usually to do a job, and they are left in place. These do not look bad, but fit and finish could be better considering they went to the trouble of coating them black. Just seems like more attention could have been paid to cutting the threads a little better.That said, it will do the job as far as I know. I do not have the ability to put 1200 Lbs of load and measure that it handles it. They are working for my purpose, but I am not putting nearly that much load on them.With my purpose, I do need to adjust the tension each time I use them. It is not an application where they are left in place. And again, the fit/finish is what comes to play in that they do not adjust very easily by hand. Not even when there is no tension applied. You will likely need a wrench just to pull out the slack. Maybe this will get better over time...I do not know.So yes, they are working. I was just hoping for a little smother threads so adjustment would be easier when there is no load.If your application is to install this and leave it alone, these will likely work just fine for you (if the load rating is observed and true).
