These are the perfect size for homemade vinegars, kombucha and root beer. Excellent quality. I just put them in a large pot, covered with water, brought to a boil, covered, turned on low and let simmer for 20 minutes before using.

A while back I discovered that you could make vanilla extract at home. It was so surprisingly simple! Put 6 vanilla beans in a 12 ounce sealable bottle. Pour in vodka, (or other “spirit†of your choice – many like using bourbon), seal the top, and let it sit for 6 months. That is it. It is that easy, and when you look at the price of REAL vanilla extract in the stores, this DIY becomes extremely attractive for both the economy in production and the amazing taste! (I like my own Vanilla Extract much better than storebought!)After the first experiment, I wanted to kind of “mass produce†my own vanilla extract to give as gifts, but bottles are kinda pricey. I found swing top bottles for $4, $5, and more per bottle. Granted you can reuse both the bottle and the vanilla beans, but the entry cost is steep. When I saw these at about $2 per bottle it make gift giving of vanilla extract affordable for me. The bottles arrived very fast after order, and they were well packaged and arrived in pristine condition.The bottles are exactly what you would expect. They feel strong and secure when the top is centered and locked. No leaks. No drips or drops on the bottle after vigorously shaking, which needs to be done weekly for 6 months or so as the extract is “brewingâ€. I feel as though I found a quality product at a great price.With this affordably priced 12 pack, I can start to experiment with other extractions like ACV and Kombucha without that “entry level cost†hit. I’m very pleased. If you are looking to bottle “stuffâ€, be it a tonic, extract, or aged brew, these work as expected, and make that acquisition curve less expensive. I’m using them, giving them away, and I recommend them without reservation.

These bottles arrived quickly, were well packed, and are more affordable than many similar options. I've only used about five at this point, but I have been experimenting with making various flavored syrups and these are nice to store them in. I got the 4 oz size, and while a little bigger would be nice for some things, there are enough that I can just used two bottles for the same flavor if necessary. They're also a good size for sampling many flavors, and they fit on my shorter refrigerator shelves. The included funnel is a helpful addition as well. The only thing I might suggest is a brush or something for cleaning the bottles between uses. The opening is too small for my silicone bottle brushes and a bit too big for my straw brush to work effectively.

I've got quite a few of the smaller 16 oz bottles like this with the flip tops and use them to make kombucha. They work great for that and the caps seal really well so it can built up carbonation. I didn't realize they made them in larger sizes and decided to purchase these large ones. I have to admit I was a bit surprised at just how big the bottles are. They feel a lot like wine bottles. I love having the larger size to make bigger amounts of kombucha at once. My only issue now is that I'm going to have to put them someplace different than the other ones because these are too tall and won't fit! But I'll happy find them a home!

While these bottles have a few minor imperfections they are pretty nice. I use them for coffee storage along with a wine bottle vacuum cap. They will hold a full pound of whole bean coffee.The swing arm that they are fitted with seems to work nicely and the stoppers fit properly.I received this item through Vine and while that means that I did not pay full price, it was not free and I am quite happy with receiving them.
