I use it as an ice mold. We use the ice for shaved ice. Works perfect for us.

They expand and collapse when used to heat food in microwave if left sealed. The plastic was permanently deformed when container cooled and collapsed. Now this one container doesn't seal properly. I learned my lesson, always open container to prevent expansion and collapse.

This is for the 1/3 size.These storage bins are very sturdy. The plastic feels strong, not flimsy. They are slim but deep, meaning you can store a lot of stuff in a little space. We’ve got our handheld power scrubber set in the one in the picture. They are food-grade so we’re planning on also storing apples, potatoes, and onions in them. I’m particularly interested to see if you can smell the onion through the seal.The lids close completely but can come off easily. This could be either a plus or a minus for any individual. You wouldn’t want to turn them over and shake them, but they also should be easy to open if your hands are painful.They do go in the dishwasher, which is great news!They do seem to be on the pricey side. We got six containers and six lids in the package, which works out to $15 for one set. I don’t feel like they over-priced a cheap product. It’s definitely quality. You’d have to think hard about the type and frequency of use when buying them. No reason to shell out for food-grade to store knick-knacks. Also consider how often you’d need to store food in these quantities.

These are high quality, restaurant grade storage containers. They will outlast any flimsy plastic ones you may grab at the supermarket. I use similar containers at work.This particular size is just right for the house, 4" 1/6 size pans. They stack in the fridge and will work well for prepping food for parties at home, Taco night, charcuterie boards etc.They are dishwasher safe and easy to clean. The tops do push down into the containers to make a seal, but they do not lock on the lip of the container. They will leak/open if held upside down, so not for packing liquids in a bag or or storage on their side.The containers nest in eachother when not in use, but the lids do not stack easily. If cupboard space is a concern, they may be a bit too bulky for you.I personally love them and would order again from this seller.

Although I have not used these yet, I am comparing them to other plastic storage bins I have used. When first opening the box the first thing I noticed was they did not have that strong smell you usually get from plastic storage bins. I washed them in warm soapy water and dried them. They did not have that filmy coating that some storage bins get after they dry. I am looking forward to using these to store meals for my husband to defrost and use while I am away. I also purchased freezer labels from Amazon so he is all set. He won't have to wonder what that thing is in the freezer that has ice crystals over it and looks just like everything else.

It would be nice if it came with lids that fit all the 1/6 containers. But they literally only fit themselves. But the containers are sturdy

These are the same containers you would find in use at a restaurant. They are made of very thick and durable plastic, not the cheap stuff you would get at the dollar store. The lids fit perfectly on the top and are sturdy for stacking anything on top. I don't think they make a completely air-tight seal or waterproof seal, but for most uses, they close tightly enough. When I entertain, I often need to store food items (like canapes etc) that are not tall but can't be stacked. These are going to be absolutely perfect. The 1/3 size is also not too big to use in a standard refrigerator for a lot of storage needs for "short" foods, like fish, steak, pizza, etc. These will also last virtually forever if not abused. Highly recommend.
