THis should be in your toolbox... period. How many times have you spun the points off the head of a screw and can no longer grab it with a screwdriver? Lots I am sure. This destroys the screw, but it gets it out. The engineering of this is genius. It can remove mor than just screws, even does bolts that are rounded off. Now if the bolt is rusted in place, it still might be a problem, but if rounded off is the only thing then this will work. My advise, have one of these in your took kit. It isn't hard to use or technical, you just need to follow the directions.

Not sure how strong metal is quite yet.

Disappointing product. The screw extractor was flimsy and broke easily, failing to remove stubborn screws. Not worth the purchase.

Removing a damaged screw is a three-step process. First, match the screw with an appropriate drill bit, then drill a groove in the damaged screw, and use pressure on the extractor end to remove it. This humble set looks to cover all those bases. It provides bits in five sizes, likely to cover a wide range of screws. They are marked 0 through 4 (with two labeled # 2). That translates to US sizes from 1/16" to 7/64". The other side of the tool contains varied sizes of extractors.Attach the bit end to a drill to create a groove in the damaged screw. However, when using the extractor end, my sources recommend applying slow, gentle pressure. Use a high-torque, low-speed manual device for extraction rather than a power tool. Also, consider lubricants.I haven't had occasion to use this set yet. I figured it was better not to wait until I needed one. I do question whether the extractor heads are deep enough to grip the screw. However, looking at reviews of similar products, the main complaint from users is the head snapping off during extraction. This appears to be constructed from hard enough metal to work properly.

This screw extractor set is a decent tool to have on hand for emergencies, especially when dealing with stripped screws or rounded bolts. It comes with multiple sizes, which covers a wide range of screw types, and the high hardness of the extractors makes them feel well-made at first glance. For the price, it’s a good value if you’re looking for a basic set to keep in your toolbox for occasional use. However, there are some significant drawbacks. Despite the claims, the extractor heads often fail to grip screws effectively and can even strip them further, which is frustrating. The lack of clear instructions makes it harder to use, especially for those unfamiliar with screw extractors. Additionally, the quality of the metal feels cheap, and it doesn’t hold up well to repeated use—definitely not suitable for larger bolts or professional jobs.Overall, this set is okay for light, occasional use, but if you’re dealing with tougher jobs or need something reliable, you might want to invest in a higher-quality tool.

I had a screw the I just couldn't take out. It stripped out completely and I though I there was nothing I could do. Then I saw these, and my life changed. Just use the drill side for a few seconds, flip it around and reverse out the screw. It was amazing how well it worked.

Over the years, I've had several situations that could've been much easier to deal with if I had a kit like this. I finally remembered to order one BEFORE I needed it, and I'm glad I did. These worked well on some simple, stripped screw removals- they weren't super tight, just had stripped heads. I had no real issues with durability, but I can see where A tougher removal could possibly be a challenge due to the softer metal. I really think it would depend on the - situation for my purposes, they will work just fine.

The only reason I didn’t give this 1 star is because I haven’t tested the largest bits. For most people, these would be useful for smaller screws and bolts but, unfortunately, this product just doesn’t work. The drill side is duller than an actuary rating calculators and the extractor side strips out and that’s only if you can get it to bite. The only positive thing I can say is that these work with a 1/4†hex impact gun.
