I use these to make dog collars and they work great. I don't have to worry about my 92 lb dog breaking the hardware when it's this sturdy. Most hardware used for dog collars has a coating on the metal and when that rubs off it looks bad. This will always stay the color of stainless steel.

Should be excellent for medium duty even though the ad says "heavy duty" ... I would not risk it. The nuts lock tight and if you want a bit more secure, a tiny drop of blue Loctite will help.
