I didn't want anything to precious for gardening and hiking. This are light weight and seem to work. I find them very comfortable, but my arms are fairly slim. I don't think they would be as comfy on larger arms. It's great to have a pack of them where you can distribute them in backpacks, garden basket, car... wherever. These are not heavy duty but they have held up to gardening so far.

I take these sleeves everywhere with me and wish I had found them earlier. I am very fair skinned and even wearing sunscreen, I have gotten little brown patches on my arms and wrists from the sun. The skin under my clothes that are always covered is as beautiful as in my childhood years. A double layer of clothing provides 100% sun blockage, so now I wear these sleeves every time I go outdoors even under a light long sleeved t-shirt to protect my arms from the sun. I can pull them over my hands to protect my hands as well. After several years of wearing these the sun spots have faded! These are dollar tree priced per pair and a bargain when you realize that you can not get your skin back once it is fried! Also, they are great at protecting your arms from sticker bushes and mosquito bites when outside!

I got these a while back, waited to write a review on them, they fit great, and they are cool to the feel. perfect for myself and my wife, her cause shes always hot, me cause im always hot when i go out side...lol they are great, just dont like the thumb hole...lol

These arm sleeves work fantastically!Okay, so the have been designed for skinny/narrow arms, so they roll up a bit past my elbows, but the level of sun protection and comfort by-and-far makes up for that. Worn for 6+hrs during the middle of the day under the Australian sun and I'm not burnt. As someone that burns just taking the bins out or hanging the washing out, this is a game changer.I strongly recommended this product!
