About this item

  • This white wisteria is native to Japan and was introduced to the United States in the 1830s as an ornamental plant.
  • It grows best in full sun. However, in the southern zone 8, it benefits from afternoon shade.
  • The delicate white flowers open from the top and grow downward. The branches of white wisteria wrap around the support like a vine, which makes them perfect for decorating walls, gates, fences, gazebos, railings, stair railings, columns.
  • To grow wisteria from seeds, the temperature must reach 65 degrees Fahrenheit or higher. The hard outer shell needs to be weakened slightly, and rubbing the edges of the seeds with a file to thin the shell works well. Soak the seeds in warm water overnight. Sow at a depth of one inch. Cover the pot with damp paper or plastic cover. The cover must be removed when the first signs of green are seen.
  • Please do not plant the seeds without pre-treating. You can search on the Internet for your seed specific needs.

I followed a video on how to start the seeds and I haven't had any sprouts yet. I'm still hopeful because it's only been a cpl weeks but I'm bummed because these plants are stunning. Maybe I'll try a plant already started 🥴
