This 1200 denier midweight high neck turnout is just what you need for the average winter climates. The adjustable high neck gives you the extra coverage you need in bad weather along with the adjustability for a perfect fit. It features waterproof and breathable 1200 denier outer shell, 210 Nylon lining, and 200 grams of Polyfil for warmth. It has shoulder gussets for freedom of movement, low cross surcingles, double buckle front, full coverage tail flap, and adjustable leg straps that help keep the blanket down and in place.

These Rugged Ride blankets are great quality and have held up well in bad weather. The horses are always dry and the adjustable necks make a perfect fit to keep horses warm. The rip-stop material is durable and has held up well.

I have purchased this brand before and have always been satisfied with the quality. Although this brand tends to be more affordable than the crazy high priced bands - it stands up to those brands and outperforms them. I wanted a high neck more for winter rain protection than anything else. A dry horse is a healthy horse over the winter. Pros - the shoulder gusset is nice and high up, over the wides part of the shoulder. This is a major plus. Lower sitting gussets just get caught on doorways etc and they ALL rip up. You can sew this back up but the weather proofing is now compromised and it will eventually just rip again. Why blanket manufatures make the top of the gusset with the reinforcement little patch exactly at the widest part of the shoulder where it gets rubbed the most is beyond me. This blanket , where the gusset ends is up higher over the shoulder so it will not rub on doorways etc. The sizing is correct and the length is nice and long so it does not look like a mini skirt. My mare is a boxy deep and wide Appy that needs generous porportions. The material is nice and thick and the fill is lightweight. Not a super heavy blanket for northern climates. Good everyday blanket. The Cons - not a deal breaker but the neck opening is a little small. I know it sits up high on the neck but the actual opening is just to small for a broad necked/chested horse. The top chest clip needs to be let way out and the bottom chest clip can be done up normal. This will allow her head to be down to graze. If the neck area was cut more generous like the rest of the blanket it would be a perfect blanket. I can live with the odd chest closure area because the rest of the blanket is great. If you have a narrow shouldered horse with a skinny neck, this is perfect. Otherwise, the front clips need to be adjusted weird to get the proper fit. Overall - I would buy again.

Love the high neck so the mane doesn’t rub off ; great quality; have them for all my horses ; waterproof ; advice to size down as it runs large
