This is the lightest range pole that I have ever owned in my 20 years of land surveying! The only aluminum parts are the twist lock mechanisms. The only negative I have about this range pole is that there are light gouges appearing throughout the carbon fiber sections, and it looks like is from the aluminum twist lock mechanisms scratching the carbon fiber pole-sections as we adjust them up and down. It's very possible the lettering for the pole-height will eventually be scratched off after extensive use. That said, this is a great range pole and our backs and shoulders thank the manufacturer for how lightweight it is!! Top marks!
