About this item

  • [PREMIUM MATERIAL]: Commercial quality 100% virgin solid vinyl with ultra violet inhibitors manufactured into the product, tough, made to last and wear resistant.
  • [VERSATILE APPLICATIONS]: Used to repair various patio sling furniture including sling chairs lounges barstools as well as used for awnings spline or slide out covers on RVs.
  • [DIMENSION]: 25 ft length; 1/4 inch diameter; The vinyl spline must be large enough to keep from slipping through the opening slot running along the rails yet not too big to fit well in the ends of the rails for easier installation. So please measure the thickness of the original vinyl spline first or the diameter of the rail prior to order for the perfect match replacement purposes.
  • [HOW TO USE]: This vinyl spline is designed to fit into the seam of fabric and then slid into a rail on a chair frame, and can be cut to any length as per your need. Use a cloth meansuring tape on the sling furniture to get the proper length.
  • [WARM TIPS]: Use a lighter to make the spline end smoother so the spline would slide through the sling fabric sleeves easier; Lubricant like petroleum jelly can be used to clean and lube the groove of each one of the rails to help the sling slide through the rails eaiser. The ends of the splines should be left sticking out of the rails, because they tend to move when stretching the sling fabric in the side rails. Cut them off later after you finish stretching the slings.

Replaced my dry rotted ones on my 2007 Holiday Rambler Endeavor patio awning. The two sizes worked perfectly, easy installation but was not as stiff as factory ones. Good value for the money.

My deck chairs were worn and coming apart and I found a website for the fabric and a video on how to replace it and found the correct “cane” here. Fits perfect and now I have new chairs at a fraction of the cost!

I ordered this to replace the old spline in our motorhome awning. While it did do the job, a word of warning. This is NOT a stiff piece of material. It comes in a coiled pack and is actually quite limp. If you have an awning or anything that is slightly larger than this spline, and it's of any decent length, you're gonna have a tough time forcing that new spline all the way through from one end to the other.I improvised. I pierced the end of the new spline with some serious strong sewing thread. Then I taped that to the old spline which was brittle but worked. Once I got the old spline all the way through the loop of the awning, I then pulled that sewing thread which pulled the new spline through to the point where I needed it. From that point on, it was easy. Just be aware, it's not a stiff piece of plastic. It's a limp coiled vinyl.
