First of all, Turn off the power.

Secondly, Take out the motor start capacitor.

Used this VEXUNGA 161-193 mfd in my pool pump. Found pump in a 1 second stall before starting pump. The pump overheated and lost its TAR insulation and melted into the motor back cover. First one I've lost like that. Choosing another brand for replacement. Don't recommend using this Brand.
