Definitely does not make 50 quarts so be warned. Maybe 20-30 quarts. Regardless, this moss is one of the best. No sticks, plastic bits or other unknowns. It doesn't smell bad and it fluffs up nicely into healthy normal green colored moss. No dye making it a funky green color. It holds moisture like a good moss should. I have been raising snails for years and I go through ALOT of moss. If it's good for sensitive snails it will be good for other creatures. I have tried almost every brand out there and this moss is in my top 2 brands. I definitely will be buying another 8 or so bricks.

Like the stuff. Got it for my giant African millipedes. Tight packed , not a hint of moisture in the package, so you know you're getting your full weight in moss. It broke apart really quick and easy with no need to wet it first, and so far, it seems to be staying nice and damp after a good misting. I'll order again. Thanks

Bought this for a pair of Garter Snakes we have to put in a rock hide to create a humid hide for when our Garter Snakes go into shed. Great product, really nice color and a great value.

Not as advertised ... it's no where near as green. It IS dyed. But it is just like the pictures in the reviews.HOWEVER: BEWARE OF PLASTIC SHREDSMy picture is from one block alone. I was thorough, and I'm using this for plants, so it's not as big of a deal if I was using it for animals. If you are using it for animals... BE MORE THOROUGH.Smells clean, looks good, nice and fluffy otherwise. Very little grass and "not moss".

There is a LOT of moss compacted into this dehydrated brick. Just rip a chunk off and soak it in water to rehydrate. I forgot to freeze my bag before opening it, but thankfully I didn't receive any hitchhikers.

This was good stuff! It smelled fresh when I to get out of the package. It was very tightly packed in there to the point that maybe 1/8 of the package filled up about a gallon size Ziploc bag when wet. I wasn't exactly sure the best way to handle it, so I ripped apart the pieces and then used my hands to separate them as much as possible before adding water because they were so tightly packed in there that I wanted to make sure I was getting the most out of them. Plus I bought this for my plants as an alternative soil source or soil additive, and it worked well!

I purchased this moss for my baby Sulcata tortoise to help with moisture in the enclosure. Unfortunately, the first thing she did was try to eat it, so I had to take it out. I'm now using it over the soil on my potted plants, so it wasn't a total waste.
