I am not a professional when it comes to home repairs however I can do things very well when necessary. But when I was asked by my mother to add an extra handrail in her shower, I got a bit nervous. Drilling a hole through tile or six as it ended up being, is not easy. And I knew the last thing I wanted to do was to crack one or more of the tiles completely. That would make a simple job become a bigger harder job, causing me to then have to tile and start again. So I did my research went through all the tools I had and realized I was missing the most important thing. And that was a tile/glass drill bit. Most t/g drill bit sets did not have both of the sizes that I may or may not have needed. But this set did and was in the price range I felt was fair, so I ordered. When they arrived, I set up my things and went nervously went to work. I was very happy I bought this set. Most of the other sets did not have the size I ended up needing. The bit worked so incredibly well and drilled perfect holes without any tile breakage or damage to anything around it. It took me about 10 minutes to do this job. But only because I did the research and shopping and ultimatelygot the right tool.Excellent

I first tried SKIL's masonry bits I bought at Lowe's, only to find out they drill about 1/8" of the way then no longer digs in. So, I returned the useless SKIL bits and tried these....a night & day difference. These bits bite into masonry tiles like designed to, and do so quickly. Note, however, that it does create minor crackings around the hole, so if you don't wish that to happen watch youtube or leave it for a professional. I used these to install a soilet paper holder, which covered the cracks so was not an issue.Although made in China, thsese are of good quality and effective, so I gave it 5 stars.

Figured I’d give these a try thinking they may be OK. Well they were not. Very poor quality the springs compressed, and the drill bit sticks out before you even place it into a recession. would not recommend to anyone. The price should have given me a clue, but they were worth a try, but don’t waste your money.

In case you're wondering, these can get through porcelain tile, although slowly. True multimaterial bits. Used them all over the place. Would repurchase.

I bought these to install inset doors using a simple 2x3 hinge. I was using the smallest bit for my application since the screws were very small. Half way into the 2nd hinge, the spring inside completely gave way such that the bit would stick out preventing the self-centering portion to not be able to seat properly (and thus not be able to center itself) resulting in holes that were no longer centered. I had to keep taking the bit apart to re-stretch out the spring. If you're doing more than 1 hinge, I would not recommend these bits. Fine for a few holes but they're cheap and not durable. I will be finding another set of these for future use.

I've suffered through many different masonry bits in my life; these are a breath of fresh air.I was dreading a project which involved drilling about a dozen holes through some flagstone material (about 1.5" thick). I procrastinated forever. Finally decided to get it done over Labor Day weekend, so I ordered this set of bits. Drilling through any masonry is never a fast proposition, but with patience, these bits worked perfectly. I was impressed.Be sure to keep water on them periodically (I used a spray bottle in one hand while I drilled) and be patient. My previous experiences usually involved getting one, maybe two holes done before the bit was burned up and ready for the trash... these bits endured very well and are ready for more action. Great product... I was pleasantly surprised.

The tip of the bits wear out quickly, making continued progress into the tile all but impossible. The wings of the cutting tip beak off, especially on the smaller bits. I've also had the tips of the smaller bits shatter in the hole (no, I wasn't pushing that hard), and the fragments in the hole will destroy the next bit or two you try to use. I do not recommend these bits.
