Installation Tips

  • The fully machined double D shaft can easily be cut to an exact length for your steering system. So machining allowance is necessary at first, then make a finish cut to the exact length needed.
  • To strengthen the connection of a double D style joint to the shaft, you can drill a dimple on the steering shaft for the set screw to seat.

Application

  • Steering gears and rack-and-pinion assemblies are two major parts of steering system. Connecting them is the job of u-joints and steering shaft. So the joint end must be matched with shaft end.
