Worked to grind edges down of quartz counters. Definitely did not polish. Even the 6000 grit.

Grits cover the range that you need. 2 pads and arbors give some flexibility. The velcro is very strong, no slippage. Did experience that sometimes the arbor would unscrew from the pad when using it on my variable speed drill (hand tightened).

I built my own bathroom vanity from ready-to-assemble cabinets and a slab of granite. One end of the granite was cut to length with a wet 4†diamond blade, but with both ends exposed I wanted a smooth finish to the cut end. I was going to spend some time with a wet polisher, but saw this kit on Amazon. (There are lots of these polishing kits, probably all from the same factory!) I used a power drill because I didn’t have a grinder. I stepped through the different grits from rough to fine. It made a lot of dust and took some time. I ended up with a fairly smooth finish, not as good as the rest of the granite slab, but good enough and I didn’t want to spend too much time. reading some other reviews, perhaps I should have tried some water on the fine grit. It would have been messier but might have produced a better finish and produced less dust in the air. I’m surprised the dry pads worked as well as they did and definitely cheaper than getting a pro to do the job.

I use this to polish rocks that can't go thru the rock tumbler. Polishes really quick and nicely.

I used the pads for buffing granite and they lasted about one minute before wore out and caused a glazing that had to be cleaned off with acetone and steel wool. A different brand I had used before on a different piece of granite worked great. I bought those from Home Depot. Guess I will shop there for new ones.
