This kit worked very well on a 2004 Jetta TDII had a glow plug snap right under the nut, and with this kit I was able to remove the electrode within the plug, drill out the threaded area, clean threads in the head, and tap/pull the remaining lower body of the glow plug. Take your time drilling, measure how far down you want your bit and use tape or a paint marker to mark how far you want your bit to travel, before starting. Also, take your time tapping! It should not take all your strength to clean threads or tap new ones. If it feels very difficult to turn, you may have bottomed out in your drilled hole.Search out video “5205 Laser Tools Broken Glow Plug Removal Setâ€. The set used in that video looks identical to this one, and it has very good step by step instruction.Very good value, I was expecting to pay much more than ~$30 for a kit like this.

Tried to replace galled # 4 glow plug on 2006 Jeep Liberty diesel. Glow plug broken off just below the hex head. Step drills are too short and would not cut the material. Taps did not fit in Tap "T" handle. 10 MM tap would not start. 1/4" tap would not start. After hours of frustration ordered Wise Tool Kit # B900-0199 hoping I can avoid pulling the head on my Liberty.

Took over 5 hours and I had to braze a 7mm bolt onto the extraction mandrel of this tool to get a good bite in the broken off glow plug on a Mercedes, but it saved me pulling and/or replacing the head.

Found drill bits break on first few turns of drill. Puller will work good if you have enough room around the glow plug hole. Make sure you drill down till you can see the cut lip of the glow plug past the threads. The step drill bit is a joke. Just use a regular drill bit and watch your angle to keep it straight with the hole.

Every bit in the kit is junk. All snapped with no pressure given. Plastic would have lasted better. Will never buy this again. Definitely not worth the money in any way.

If you use this it will destroy your cylinder head. There is no way to keep drill in place
