It's not extremely powerful but has sufficient magnification for the price. I bought it on sale. It's sturdy and fits easily in one hand.

The monocular is well-constructed and feels solid. It is really easy to focus. It comes with a wrist-strap to prevent dropping it, and a nice carrying case. I think it will come in handy on camping trips and hikes.

This is a really fun item for anyone interested in stargazing, moon watching and planet searching. Our granddaughter said she had recently become interested in these things when I asked what she’d like for Christmas. She loves it! She said she takes it with her everywhere! It’s easily portable and affordable.

I am so happy I bought this for my husband. I’d bought my son (14) something similar. I read everything on so many but this one stuck out and the reviews sold me. I am so glad I picked this one. It’s so handy. He carries it everywhere and pulls that thing out when we least expect it. The range on this will totally surprise you.. In a good way!! Buy this the clarity of what you focus on is the best we have owned.

I bought this monocular for my 10 year old grandson ,who is always out and about wanting to explore the world. He loves this handy dandy contraption. The best thing since sliced bread, that I could have bought for this young man. Uses it all the time and has seen close up of mountains and birds.Highly recomend purchasing this monocular, rather than a clumsy binocular. Also he doe not trip trying to walk on his adventures while using this one eye monocular as he can still see where he's going. Very lightweight, great value for my money as well as vwrybsturdy and well made.Easy to use, handy case, and happy joyful grandson. Many adventures to come.

Other reviewers said that its not 16x, so the first thing I did was compare it to a single eye of a Celestron 8x42 binocular. I would have to agree that to the human eye it seems less powerful. I believe the product documentation only says it is 10x. Not sure about that either, I would say that it "feels" like the image is overall a little smaller, a little darker, and a little narrower FOV than the 8x42 when I do a quick side-by-side with my eye and the Celestron as a mono. Perhaps if you put a camera on it you could get slightly more zoomed in images vs the binocs, but to my eye, its looks not quite as good. but still okay. The other issue I have is that if you try to look around with your eye, you end up looking into the "black circle" all the time, and you have to get used to holding it just right to align the lenses. There is no way to scan with your pupil from far left to far right without entering the blackness or subtly repositioning the scope. I believe this is causes by smaller lenses or a shorter light path or something. Idk. but im sure it does not happen in more expensive scopes. It does not happen on the reference Celestron optics.I used a coupon and paid like $30 for this so you could literally by 4 of them, tape them together into 2 new sets of binoculars for the price of the Celestron set, which itself is not an expensive set of optics.there are two adjustment rings. One slightly zooms the image, and the other can be used to find a focus for a given zoom. But not all "zoom ring" positions can be focused. So you can get into a situation where turning only one ring can never focus the image. Frustratingly, this happens at the "most zoomed in" position, and you have to back off the zoom by like, 10% to get a focused image. Its pretty annoying. Also, since the entire tube basically consists of 4 concentric co-rotating cylinders it can be kind of difficult to get the movement you want. You have to come up with a system of which rings to hold and which way to twist. There are multiple possible combinations. Honestly this might be a plus if you were going for the "17th century sailor" kind of vibe. That said if you just want to quickly scope something out thats not moving very fast, or bolt this onto a smart phone, or maybe give it to a child, its pretty okay for the price
