I’ve never used a drill style degassing tool and had low hopes to begin with. First time using it to degas made a MASSIVE mess as similar to swirl style degassing if you go too quick… expect a typhoon coming out the top. And it was immediate. I’m not sure if that is user error since no directions or really anything came with it… I did do regular degassing prior to using the drill attachment hoping it would help aerate but.. the mess was not worth any amount of air getting in.There are two weld points for pins to keep the blades from hitting one another and other than that a bolt and screw are the only thing keeping those blades from shooting through the carboy. The box they came in had holes in it from the blades that passed through the bubble wrap. So watch your fingers opening it. Other than that came with a spare screw and bolt… not a sign of confidence.

This is a fantastic tool if you like brewing but don't want to spend the rest of your life mixing honey into warm water and getting enough aeration into your must. If you attach it to a good power drill, this will do all the work for you.A couple complaints. the biggest is that it's so long that it tends to get a little out of control, and shakes a lot. It's metal, so if it hits the sides of a plastic container, it could easily gouge them, making them harder to clean later. It might even punch right through thinner containers.I brew in glass, so it wasn't a problem for me, but it definitely did have my attention while I was using it.
