Our old unit died after years of use. This one was attractive to us for several reasons:It is a good price for what you are getting.It was very close to the size of our old unit. I had to make some minor modifications to the wooden mantle to get this to fit, but that is to be expected.We bought this unit to heat the TV room only. It is not meant to heat a whole house, nor is it meant to run all day every day. It is perfect for a couple of hours to take the chill off.It has very realistic flames.I was most concerned about damage in transit due to the glass screen, but that was a non-issue due to good packaging. I would recommend this item to anyone looking for a supplemental heat source.As a general rule of caution, never ever leave these types of heater units running unattended. If you leave the room for any reason or go to bed, shut it off.

All good quality, and fit and finish excellent! I installed it in our cabinet that originally had fireplace but of a different manufacturer. Only negative after using a week is when the heater portion used it is “a little noisyâ€, meaning if tv off then you can hear but if on even low volume you cannot.Fire, controls and remote excellent!

I just received and opened my box, the protective styrofoam was broken and my fireplace insert significantly damaged. This is very disappointing. The item is very hard so It had to have been hit very hard to dent like this.
