I got these guided reading strips for one of my students who was diagnosed with Irlen's Syndrome because the evaluator recommended that she use colored overlays while reading. Because I primarily work with students who have dyslexia, I was intrigued by these. They're designed in such a way that the lines directly above and below the strip are not visible. Since this particular student has a tendency to jump to the wrong line while reading, I thought these might be helpful.I do feel like these strips are worth the cost. The pack contains 18 strips, 3 strips of 6 colors. Each one is one piece, so there's no danger of it falling apart at seams or anything like that. Although I was concerned that the blue might be too dark, she chose that color when I gave her a choice, and it didn't seem to be an issue for her at all. I had trouble seeing what she was reading, though! As expected, the strips did prevent her from reading the wrong line. When I asked her what she thought, she said that they were a bit difficult to center over the words. However, she liked it enough to take one with her so she could try it some more at home. It is easier to use that strip than to use the old "2 index cards" method.Bottom line: If you have a student who has trouble focusing on the correct line while reading, or one who might read better with color overlays, these inexpensive strips are worth trying.

This is a great educational tool. Perfect for kindergartners learning to read, also great for children with dyslexia. Honestly, this can be a help to anybody reading. Great quality and a great price for the value pack.
